Film with no sound….  This Varshana temple is the temple of Radharani’s birthplace.  The deities and the mood were so sweet.  The temple looked like a castle overlooking peaceful Varshana.  You have to climb up 300 steps to get to it, and then there’s heavenly pilgrims to greet you with songs and dancing for dear Radha.

Hanuman the monkey king, a great devotee of Lord Rama, (Krsna).  In the book in Sanskrit it reads Rama, Rama, Rama over and over.

Radha and Krishna.  Hare means Radha and the female aspect of Supreme, Krsna is male aspect, mataji means mother.

Lord Caitanya.  Caitanya appeared during the Renaissance in India in the 1500s.  He was known as an incarnation of Krsna who came as a devotee to distribute pure love of God.  Caitanya and his art is pretty esoteric stuff, I like this very welcoming Caitanya by Sangeeta.

A group of Italian artists came and performed a big experiment with the whole school.  They asked, “Who is God?” and gave everyone drawing materials and pieces of paper.  It was amazing to see the hundreds of children always portraying Krsna in different ways.  Even in my art club, the girls willingly always drew Krsna and Radha.  One time I told them lets just draw Vrindavan today and two girls almost left saying, “I only like to draw Radha and Krsna.”  The equivalent of that here would be children always drawing Jesus….?  It just doesnt happen.
