Film with no sound…. This Varshana temple is the temple of Radharani’s birthplace. The deities and the mood were so sweet. The temple looked like a castle overlooking peaceful Varshana. You have to climb up 300 steps to get to it, and then there’s heavenly pilgrims to greet you with songs and dancing for dear Radha.

A group of Italian artists came and performed a big experiment with the whole school. They asked, “Who is God?” and gave everyone drawing materials and pieces of paper. It was amazing to see the hundreds of children always portraying Krsna in different ways. Even in my art club, the girls willingly always drew Krsna and Radha. One time I told them lets just draw Vrindavan today and two girls almost left saying, “I only like to draw Radha and Krsna.” The equivalent of that here would be children always drawing Jesus….? It just doesnt happen.

Nick and Kavi Chandra Swami, who is a big fan of music, and even rock music. We were surprised to find out from maharaj that George Harrison’s songs “Something” and “Here She Comes” on Abbey Road was about Krsna. “He didn’t want to say “Something in the way he walks attracts me like no other” or people would have thought he was gay. So he changed it to “she”.” At one point George wanted to join a temple and shave his head but Prabhupada encouraged him to keep doing his music, that would please Krsna the most.
